As a nature all human beings are creative. This is one of our qualities. Some manifest it in an inborn way meanwhile others has it more hidden.
Creativity is the use of imagination or original ideas to create something.
Being a very important aspect, not only for artists but for people in general, creativity and inspiration appear when we are able to silence the mind. If our mind is too busy and agitated, the process of creativity and inspiration will be blocked by our thoughts and emotions.
Creativity is not just an ephemeral phenomenon that comes and goes without us being able to predict its appearance. When we have it we feel lucky and when we don’t we are just subjected to the outside circumstances and feel empty. If we don’t know how to trigger Creativity and inspiration, they will just be as clouds which come and go and evaporate after a while.
But when we achieve a inner silence we have the possibility for a constant and controlled creativity.
So we can say that the key to unlock creativity lays in how much we can control our mind.
The mastering of the mind can be achieved by using concentration exercises and meditation.
Wayne Dyer said: “Everything that’s created comes out of silence. Your thoughts emerge from the nothingness of silence. Your words come out of this void. Your very essence emerged from emptiness. All creativity requires some stillness.”

Science also proved this phenomenon. If we analyze our brain waves we can see that when being in a creative mood our brain produces alpha waves which are the same brain waves that are measured when being in deep meditation and relaxation doubled by awareness.
The alpha brain waves also makes the brain to stop producing stress, to be aware of our intuitive capacity, to be able think out of the box by having genius ideas and innovative solutions to problems instead of trying to solve them with pure logic and reasoning.
Albert Einstein said: “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination. Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”
The dream of many artists is to be in contact with an endless source of creativity and inspiration.
Creativity is not the result of a random distribution to some, and for some is not accessible at all.
Through various yoga and meditation exercises we are able to lift our emotions and lower energies and obtain creativity by will.
Meditation brings us to the very center of our being and by felling that deep connection we are able to enter in contact with ourselves and to open up to channelize amazing ideas, inspirations, solutions, and in case of visual artists to see images or in case of musicians to hear ecstatic melodies from the Universe.
Michelangelo said: “Good painting is nothing else but a copy of the perfections of God and a reminder of His painting.” So the key would be to work in being as transparent and silent as possible to be able to see and hear what God already had created.
This was and remains the secret of all genius artists and scientists.
Many artists now a days lost this connection because the desire to be individualistic and original. When the artist chooses originality is choosing also a finite path but by the contrary when choosing to be a channel, creativity will poor upon him in an endless way.
The artist doesn’t have to search blindly any more, as creativity can be obtain following just some simple exercises.
Having found the way to the center of our being, comes the desire to share these experiences with the others, and this deep desire to share becomes creativity.
A genuine artist is full of inner life and full of generosity to share with the others what he sees or hears.
The genuine artist does this out of a deep state of love for the others, to show the wonderful experiences and images that he has.
By becoming a channel of divine creativity we have the chance to participate in the universal act of creation.
Without being able to reach to the core of our being the process of producing an art work will be just subjected to the chaotic voices of the mind and the result of that process is something which should not be shown to the others. And here is important to remark the significance of the responsibility of the artist of the quality and the resonance of what he shares.
The act of being creative comes together with discipline and perseverance.
Composer Peter Tchaikovsky said “A self-respecting artist must not fold his hands on the pretext that he is not in the mood.” Ludwig van Beethoven, composer, kept his creative mode by using his time in a wise way, he took daily meditative walks to get inspired taking always with him paper and pen to write his inspirations. Writer E. B. White said “A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word on paper.”
So as a conclusion how can we increase creativity in your life?
By remaining curios and open, by getting in contact with our inner child, by being disciplined and perseverant, by spending time of our day in exercises which will make the mind to be calm, by having a daily practice of meditation, by learning to relax while being aware, by listening to our intuitions and being generous in sharing all our uplifting, positive, constructive visions and ideas with the others.
